Hanssem is strengthening the eco-friendly competitiveness of its products throughout the entire process, from development to environmental and safety assurance, based on its sustainable R&D strategy.
Centered around the Hanssem Research Institute, which became the first in Korea's furniture industry to obtain KOLAS international accreditation as a testing laboratory in 2007, the company conducts key research including material and manufacturing process R&D, testing and assurance, certification acquisition, and prototype production. It accumulates major research achievements and patents, including hazardous substance management and enhanced residential safety, while continuously expanding product development that considers environmental impact.

Hanssem is strengthening its product management based on various eco-friendly certifications to objectively verify the environmental performance of its products. From the product design stage, it incorporates elements for reducing hazardous substances, improving resource efficiency, and lowering carbon emissions. It is expanding the acquisition of certifications that consider environmental impact throughout the entire production and supply process. The company systematically manages the eco-friendliness and safety of its major product lines and plans to continuously expand the scope of eco-friendly certifications applied based on future product characteristics and environmental standards.

Eco-Friendly Packaging Materials

Changing the Packaging Material of Mattresses

Hanssem systematically manages potential risks from hazardous chemicals through safety management during the product planning stage and its regular warranty and incoming inspection verification system.
We use only raw materials confirmed to be safe, meticulously review chemical substance regulations in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, and verify the structural stability and potential hazards of products through various tests. We continuously ensure the chemical safety and quality reliability of our products, striving to provide only those that meet environmental and safety standards to the market.

Regular Assurance

A system that classifies product risk levels into three tiers—high risk, medium risk, and low risk—based on accumulated test data, then applies customized testing cycles according to the risk level.
